• Minnesota trout fishing season opens mid-month
• Canada Geese and Bald Eagles are nesting.
• Ring-necked Pheasants are crowing and displaying to attract mates.
• Purple Martins arrive in our southern areas.
• Double-crested Cormorant, Great Egrets, Sora Rails, Hermit Thrush, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Brown-headed Cowbirds, Chipping and Field Sparrows, Barn Swallows, Forster's Terns, Green-backed Herons, Pectoral Sandpipers, White Pelicans, Broad-winged Hawks, Whip-poor-wills, Chimney Swifts, Barn and Northern Rough-winged Swallows, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers and Brown Thrashers arrive.
• Yellow-headed Blackbirds, Winter Wrens and Brown Creepers pass through the area.
• Juncos are forming flocks to migrate north.
• The first Ruby-throated Hummingbirds and Baltimore Orioles arrive. Be sure to have their feeders ready.
• Lyrids meteor shower, late-April.
